Vacuum Saturation Hypothesis and QCD Sum Rules 1

چکیده
The accuracy of the vacuum saturation hypothesis is discussed using the examples of vacuum expectation values of four-quark operators and the parameter B, which determines the short-distance contribution to the K 0 − ¯ K 0 mixing. Some comments, related to a (relatively small) change of the updated result due to changes in the values of incorporated phenomenological parameters, are added.

The evaluation of sum rules and vacuum condensates used in the calculation of the mixing parameters of the ω − ρ system involve dangerous cancellations of large numbers. In this note the contribution of the continuum is eliminated in order to avoid such a large source of uncertainty. It is also seen that the hypothesis of vacuum saturation used in the estimate of the dimension 6 condensate is i...

متن کاملMatrix elements of Four-quark Operators Relevant to Lifetime Difference ∆ΓBs from QCD Sum Rules
We extract the matrix elements of four quark operators QL,S relevant to the Bs and B̄s life time difference from QCD sum rules. We find the vacuum saturation approximation works reasonably well, i.e., within 10%. We discuss the implications of our results and compare them with the recent lattice QCD determination. متن کاملFour-quark Operators Relevant to B Meson Lifetimes from QCD Sum Rules
At the order of 1/mb , the B meson lifetimes are controlled by the hadronic matrix elements of some four-quark operators. The nonfactorizable magnitudes of these four-quark operator matrix elements are analyzed by QCD sum rules in the framework of heavy quark effective theory. The vacuum saturation for color-singlet four-quark operators is justified at hadronic scale, and the nonfactorizable ef...
متن کاملFinite energy chiral sum rules in QCD
The saturation of QCD chiral sum rules of the Weinberg-type is analyzed using ALEPH and OPAL experimental data on the difference between vector and axial-vector correlators (V-A). The sum rules exhibit poor saturation up to current energies below the tau-lepton mass. A remarkable improvement is achieved by introducing integral kernels that vanish at the upper limit of integration. The method is...
